1. Serious solar reflectance: A white TPO membrane reflects the large majority of the solar energy that lands on it rather than absorbing it into the building. On a large flat roof over conditioned space, that translates directly into lower cooling demand through the Texas summer and often into utility rebate eligibility.

2. Heat-welded seams: TPO seams are welded with hot air into a single continuous sheet rather than relying on adhesive or tape. The weld is typically stronger than the membrane either side of it, which removes the failure point that troubles older single-ply systems.

3. Light on the structure: A single-ply membrane adds very little weight compared with a built-up or modified bitumen assembly, which makes it a practical choice for reroofing an existing building without structural work.

4. Chemical and puncture resistance: TPO stands up well to grease, oils and industrial exhaust, which matters on restaurant and manufacturing roofs where kitchen or process discharge lands on the membrane.

5. Twenty to thirty years of service: With correct installation and routine inspection, a quality TPO system delivers two to three decades of service, and manufacturer warranties in that range are standard.

Our TPO Installation Process

Commercial roofing runs to a different rhythm than residential work. Our sequence is built around keeping your building operating while the roof goes on.

1. Roof survey and moisture scan: We survey the existing assembly, check the deck, and identify trapped moisture in the insulation. Laying new membrane over wet insulation guarantees a short roof life, so this step decides whether you need a tear-off or an overlay.

2. System specification: We specify membrane thickness, insulation type and R-value, and the attachment method that suits your deck and wind zone. Thicker membrane costs more up front and buys real durability on a roof that will see foot traffic.

3. Tear-off or cover board: Depending on the survey, we either strip the existing system or install a cover board over it. Either way the substrate is left flat, dry and sound before membrane goes down.

4. Insulation and attachment: Insulation boards are laid and either mechanically fastened or adhered, with tapered systems where drainage needs correcting. Standing water is the enemy of any flat roof and this is where it gets solved.

5. Membrane welding: The TPO sheets are rolled out, positioned and hot-air welded at every seam. Our crews probe the welds as they go, and we test seams rather than assuming them.

6. Detailing and final inspection: Penetrations, curbs, drains and parapets are flashed and welded individually, because that is where flat roofs actually leak. We finish with a full inspection and hand over the warranty documentation.
