Composite installs more like a premium shingle than like natural slate, but the products have manufacturer-specific requirements and following them precisely is what protects your warranty.

1. Consultation and product selection: There is real variation in composite quality. We walk you through the manufacturers we install, what separates them, and which profile suits your elevation, and we leave samples with you rather than relying on a brochure.

2. Deck inspection and repair: We strip the existing roof and assess the decking. Because composite is light, we are rarely dealing with structural questions here, which lets us focus on the condition of the sheathing itself.

3. Underlayment: Synthetic underlayment across the field with self-adhered membrane in valleys and at all penetrations, specified to the manufacturer’s requirements for warranty compliance.

4. Ventilation assessment: We check that intake and exhaust ventilation are balanced and correct them where they are not, because heat build-up shortens the life of any roof system regardless of material.

5. Tile installation: Tiles are laid to the manufacturer’s exposure and fastening specification. Composite is cut with standard tools and installs cleanly, which keeps labor cost well below natural slate.

6. Ridge detail and inspection: Matching ridge and hip pieces finish the roof, we sweep the site for fasteners and debris, and we register your warranty with the manufacturer on your behalf.
